Landed in beautiful Brisbane, Australia and was greeted by this cuddly koala bear at the arrival hall together with Citygal.
Besides that, we were also greeted with a lot of goodie bags hahaha. These are certainly the most useful goodie bag because bags contains sunblock, hats, bottle, snacks and etc!
#ESCAPERS15 looking super excited for our challenges in Queensland!
Typical western lunch box haha just like those I had back in the States haha.
Everyday we receive different challenges and we had to collect badges!
After freshening up in our room, we took a stroll around Brisbane!
Wefie with the fake kangaroo with City Gal =)
Enjoying the beautiful weather in front of Brisbane Museum and the iconic clock tower .
We were brought to this beautiful heritage shopping gallery, Brisbane Arcade. I cant stop admiring each corner of this mall, it makes me feel like I’m standing in the middle of a Harry Porter set.
If only we have more time to walk around in the shopping arcade! Most of the retailers here offer unique goods that you don’t see any where else, they are locally designed and made.
Another pic before heading to lunch!
One of the challenges before lunch was to take a picture of Brisbane local fashion/brands. We found this very unique shop that sells vintage fashion!
City gal and I both changed into one of their designs!!
Their shoes are really cute too!!! I should have bought one =(
These are the things that decide whether you will be winning #ESCAPERS15 or not. Collect as many as you can!
Our lunch was at Jimmy’s On The Mall. Apparently a lot of locals love coming here to “people watch” and their food is pretty delicious too!
If you wonder how do they “people watch” in this restaurant, well here is the answer, al fresco dining on the 2nd floor!
Mushroom & Truffle Arancini Balls
Caramelised Crispy Pork Spare Ribs, this dish is super duper good!
Salt & Pepper Calamari with soy mayo!
Char-grilled bug, prawns, scallop, calamari
My lunch date with City gal =)
After lunch we were divided into a few groups, each group having their own mission and challenges. Each group have their own leader so leaders were the ones who carried a pocket wifi with them. So to make sure you’re connected to the internet, you will have to follow ur leader around like in the pic.
We got picked up in a party van yo!
Sound system, flat screen tv and a pole in the van. What else would you need? It’s time to party!
My challenge for the day was to do stand up paddle boarding at Brisbane Ironic river!
Pardon my outfit cox it was my first time and I had no idea wat to expect ==” I had to say that the whole stand up paddle boarding experience was fun and challenging. I kept telling myself “DO NOT fall into the water because you have full makeup on!” hahaha. Surprisingly I did quite well, I remained dry the whole time! I’m so glad that I got assigned to a challenge that can never be done in Malaysia.
After that we headed back to our hotel room and got ready for the welcome dinner =)
Got picked up by this cute double decker from Brisbane Explorer bus tour!
We got to tour the city before dinner and it was awesome! The view was beautiful and the weather was so perfect! That’s me and Citygal in our matchy bottoms hehehe
How much I wish I get to take this ride again and again because there is too many things to see and explore! They provide headsets for all the passengers so that we can understand the buildings even more with their explanations (comes in few different languages too)
The happy kids on the bus go YEAH YEAH YEAH!
Then they made a quick stop at a picture perfect spot for us to take a good look at Brisbane night view!
Another picture of the night view because it’s too pretty =)
City gal and I, my fav travel partner =)
Our dinner was at Pony dining located at Eagle Street Pier. Dont you just love their table setting? So simple but romantic! We were seated outdoors which is perfect becasue we get to enjoy the view and while enjoying the lovely dinner.
Charred flat bread with smoked eggplant and white bean dip
Burrata, peaches, rocket and balsamic. At first, Dennis from SG and I tot the white balsamic was an egg then he was like I cut it ya? Then we both burst out laughing cox there was no yolk wtf
This is my fav! Salt and pepper squid, so crispy and yummy!
My main course was 350g 100% pure Angus Sirloin sooooooooooooooooo good!
Eat all the fries with smoked bbq sauce yo!
The highlight of the night was when they announced the winners of #ESCAPERS15 Singapore! We won 2nd place, a 2 night stay in Swan Valley Novotel Vines Resort and $200 voucher for Scoot Airlines!
We were quite surprised that we got 2nd place because the rest of the participants for #Escapers15 definitely have better and more creative pictures compared to us! Besides that, congrats to Kuan and Coco from China who got first place!
To be continued…
