Have you guys ever wondered how well you know your own country? Haha, well, I was recently pondering this issue when my relatives from Taiwan were here in Malaysia for a holiday, and they were asking me where to visit, what to do, and what to eat. I literally “blanked out”!

All I could tell them was to visit Penang and Ipoh because they prefered to see the local culture and food, instead of going sightseeing and doing outdoor activities.

What if there was a website that provides a list of interesting upcoming events, highlights lesser known destinations, shows you where to stay, where to eat, and helps you plan your holiday? If only I found out sooner!

Check out www.flyklia.com ! This is more of a one-stop social media site for travellers because you can check out articles and blogposts written by users on the destinations you plan to visit.

Let’s start off on the main page. From here, if you have a destination in mind, for example, recently Jo and I were thinking of going on a beach holiday to Sabah, just click on “Plan Your Trip”, and type in Sabah.

Alternately, if you have recently been on a trip to Sabah, you can “Share Your Experience” with others!

Then, click on which activities you prefer, and that’s it!

From here you can find cheap flights, hotels, car rentals, and most importantly, reviews on interesting places to visit, resources such as hotel contacts, and if you explore another category, you can find places to eat, upcoming activities, and much more.

If you don’t have any destination in mind, also feel free to explore the site by clicking at the links at the bottom of the screen, such as “Accommodation”, “Events”, and “Places To Go”.

If you click under “Places To Go”, you will see a huge list of interesting things to check out, even for day-trips or new and upcoming restaurants in town.

Click under “Accommodations” and you will find user-generated reviews, and suggestions of places to stay that you might not have thought about such as a homestay!

This site has given me plenty of ideas for my next holiday destination, so I’m sure you guys will have lots of fun exploring and navigating the site!
