This is a long overdue post! Around 2 months ago we celebrated my Grandpa’s 80th Birthday and also my grandparents’ Wedding Anniversary.
This year, I was in charge of the decorations of the venue, cake, cupcakes, invitations and also the photographer. With the amount of work back in the office plus the planning for grandpa’s birthday dinner, I was pretty exhausted.
I took a day’s leave to return back to my hometown a day before the dinner. The minute I got home, I called up to everyone to make sure everything was in order.
The night before the dinner, the three of us were pretty busy with seating arrangements.
I had a hard time reading the guests list, it was written by my mum T.T
Then we fooled around with the peach buns…
The next morning….
The tradition of our family is to wish the birthday boy in a very traditional way. He will then give us a red packet and also a little gift as a souvenir.
Then a gold ring for the grandchildren.
Friends of my grandparents placed a notice on the newspaper as their birthday gift.
We headed to the venue to start to help out.
The “before” picture of the ballroom.
Lunch in the hotel room hahaha
The dinner began at around 7pm. I was back in my hotel room busy dressing up and when I stepped into the ballroom, everything was so prefect, the tables, the color, the cake, the stage and etc…
The theme of the night was Red and Gold. (my idea haha)
The cake wasn’t what we wanted but it was still acceptable.
Uncle came out with an excellent idea, which was having my grandparents enter the room in a trishaw.
We had a lion dance performance too.
Aunty came all the way from Taiwan, Jie, Mum, Gin and I
The grandchildren and grandparents
and not forgetting the “yam sheng” session
Then Sis and I were assigned to give away the souvenirs for all the guests who attended.
A closer look at the souvenir.
The cupcakes that I designed 0.o
Not forgetting my outfit pic, wahahha
Dress – Platinum Mall, BKK
Heels – Aldo
Last but not least, I would love to thank those who participated, helped out and attended! You guys made this day special and filled with memories.
It was indeed a very fun night; I got to hang out with loved ones and meeting a few of our long lost relatives.
Lots of love!
Special thanks to:
Decoration: La Flaire
