Yes, my second Birthday post.
Caution: Food Photos overload!
I had my birthday dinner a day earlier with my family, I decided to have Frangipani and the only reason was because I wanted to bring my parents to all the nicer restaurants that I have been to.
So, right after I finished work on Friday. I called my parents to let them know what time I was going over. I got home, took a shower, changed and got ready. Our dinner reservation was at 7.30pm so I reached KL at around 7.15pm to pick them up and off to Frangipani.
My family, Gin faster come back so we can take a proper family portrait.
All of us chose to have the 3 course meal, and everyone ordered different starters and main dishes. This might be my last visit there cause I guess I have already tasted all the dishes there in one visit.
Very cute and delicious sweet potato puree.
First course..
Fresh tiger prawn ceviche with avocado cream, dried tomato reduction and chillies.
Three fresh Kumamoto oysters with white miso vinaigrette
Hickory smoked anchovies with cream cheese and lemon butter sauce on a grilled organic rye and molasses toast
I didn’t manage to take pictures of all the first courses because I was too hungry and some were quite far away.
Second Course..
Grilled basil garlic infused snails with sweet pea puree, dried tomato glaze and garlic peanut crumble
Deep fried spice dusted soft shell crab with white bouillabaisse sauce, tomato reduction, chickpea aïoli and saffron foam
“Black” rice risotto with grilled fresh water prawn, baby squid and oyster
Warm tea smoked salmon with confit potatoes crème fraîche and salmon roe
Lychee Sorbet to cleanse our palates before the main course.
Grilled betel leaf wrapped Angus tenderloin with Savoy cabbage and Indonesian black nut sauce
This is my favorite dish, the beef is so well cooked and mouth-watering. *thumbs up*
Pan roasted duck confit with mustard cream and mashed potato on a crisp potato couronne
Organic chicken breast, seared and then baked in a hay, salt and spice crust, served with celeriac truffle pancake, celeriac puree and verjuice glaze
Pan roasted, duck prosciutto wrapped grain fed tenderloin topped with pan seared foie gras and served with wilted spinach and truffle glaze
I always love having dinner with my family, it’s always fun and sweet.
Thanks daddy for paying the 1k bill hehehe
Thanks for travelling all the way from KP to have dinner with me in KL.
Thanks a lot!

October 1, 2010 at 5:00 amI see you had a great time on your pre birthday dinner with your family and the dishes were stunningly looks delicious. I could devour all of it anytime especially that black rice risotto. I think it is the most nutritious dish of the night since it has black rice which was recently found out to contain antioxidants that prevents cancer on our bodies. That will be worth more than what your dad had paid for. Happy Birthday.
